Great Excitement - Finalist Regional Inland Tourism Awards

Wonderful news:  Received a congratulatory phone call on Tuesday 6th July, 2010 advising that the Vineyard Motel, Cowra is a FINALIST in the REGIONAL INLAND TOURISM AWARDS.  The Gala Presentation Dinner will be held in the Aviation Museum at Temora on Saturday 24th July, 2010 when the Regional Winner will be announced.

Huge Bonfire

Our Sister City/Council is Kogarah Council in Sydney NSW.  Every year the Mayor, General Manager and some directors head to Cowra for meetings and a sharing of ideas.  One of the highlights of their visit is staying with us at The Vineyard Motel, Cowra because we provide a bonfire especially for their visit, which we sit around and enjoy red wine, cigars and conversation.  A great time was had by all - even if Wendy-Jane did have to leave early.

Cowra Ladies Open Golf Tournament 15-19 June 2010

We have a 3-day tournament happening in June and we have a group of absolutely lovely golfing ladies who stay with us every year.  In fact they came for the May Tournament as well, definately an added bonus as now we get to enjoy their company twice this year.  As always we are awaiting their return visit next week with baited breath as (though they're lovely enough to book us out completely) there is always a tendency to congregate in one room to enjoy a meal and several glasses of wine - and they call this work !!!
What's not to love about gorgeous company and rich bounty from the local vineyards... ;)

Weather in Cowra

It's a beautiful sunny day here in Cowra.  Frosty morning and clear blue skies.  A great day to be out and about.
  We have the most beautiful Kelpie dog staying with us at the moment;  Caramel and cream colours and his name is Rocky.  Rocky and I had a game of chasings when I arrived this morning,  It was great fun.
 
Rocky and his parents are staying 3 days with us on one of our Midweek Packages.  We have another 2 sets of guests arriving today on our package so dinner tonight for all of us will be Beef Stroganoff with fluffy mashed potato and veges with a delicious dessert made from peaches, cake and custard.   Bon Appetit.

Iandra Castle will be open on Sunday 13th June.  If you plan to be in Cowra, you should really make the time to go out there.  See our website for more information.

Inland Tourism Awards 2010

We are anxiouxly awaiting the arrival this week of the Judge for the Inland Tourism Awards.  There has been lots of activity around the Motel - raking up leaves, mowing and the proverbial "Spit and Polish".  Will let you kow how we go.  Wish us luck.

To anyone under 35 Blogging is just an everyday occurrence. However for we over 35's it is a quantum leap. I hope to keep you up to date with happenings and experiences.

It is also a central place where you may put your comments about your stay with us.

Winter is now officially here, although the days are still beautiful and sunny, but a little bit fresh.  Lovely weather to be outdoors sightseeing around the district.
